Range

BRZ 2.0 SE Manual £24,550.00 OTR
BRZ 2.0 SE Auto £26,180.00 OTR
BRZ 2.0 SE Lux Manual £26,050.00 OTR
BRZ 2.0 SE Lux Auto £27,680.00 OTR

SE and SE LUX are the alternatives, setting the bar for standard equipment impressively high. The leather-wrapped steering wheel is finished with a sporty red stitch, and the gearstick is similarly upholstered. Aluminium pedals, a digital speed meter and a multi-function display are other details evoking the immersive cockpit style of a pure-bred track car.

With Keyless Access, cabin entry is simple. The feature is joined by Push Button Start, sending the BRZ roaring into life with a single press. One look at the digital speed meter confirms the car's pace, and a multi information display keeps you informed of all other functions.

All cabin occupants enjoy the convenience of numerous storage compartments and a generous level of personal space, and this comfort is accentuated with dual-zone automatic air conditioning. Paddle shifters arrive with the automatic models as another motorsport-inspired feature, and upgrading to SE Lux fits the cabin with luxurious heated seats.

Technology

Subaru makes every model an individual and a leader by incorporating the latest technologies throughout. In the BRZ these clever systems are integral to the thrill of the driving experience, controlling the power and delivering it as soon as the accelerator dips.

Other innovations influence the rest of the drivetrain beyond the engine, and make sure all these connected parts work in harmony for optimum output. This includes safety, an area that's never overlooked by the Japanese automaker.

Sports Car Drivetrain

The layout of the engine and other vital drivetrain components in the BRZ has been completed symmetrically. This is far from coincidence – such positioning generates impressive agility and stability in tandem. The rear positioning of the engine also lends more precision to cornering.

Responsive Transmission

The fluid six-speed transmission partnered to the roaring engine can be specified as a manual or automatic. Each one has individual advantages and the nuanced differences to suit varied driving styles. The manual version enhances the 'short stroke' feel of each shift and the car's lightning responses. With the automatic transmission, the BRZ arrives fitted with sporty gear shift paddles and two individual shift modes.

Boxer Engine

All Subaru models feature the clever Boxer engine. It takes its name from the 'punch-counterpunch' action of the pistons. The engine brings the first horizontally-opposed configuration developed for passenger vehicles to the manufacturer's entire range.

It is deliberately positioned much lower within each model than would usually be the case. This enhances the natural feel and the strength of the BRZ's centre of gravity to dramatic effect.

Safety

You and your passengers can always feel fully relaxed and secure when travelling in the BRZ. It comes equipped with whiplash-reducing front seats, surrounding SRS airbags, side impact protection, ISOFIX attachments for child seats and much more. In the highly unlikely event of a collision the above passive features work to absorb impact energy and lessen the strain placed on occupants.

There are a range of intelligent active technologies to prevent collision in the first instance. Sport VSC mode is one of the key features built into the BRZ. Here, Subaru has built on the Vehicle Stability Control system by incorporating 'sport mode' – lateral G sensors, brake and throttle adjustment, and subtle corrections to the steering. Accompanying this is a Torsen limited slip differential, which recognises any loss of traction on a driven wheel and alters the power to it to prevent wheel spin. The resultant performance feels thrilling, yet no less secure than you always expect from a Subaru.
